Matt Ross—Captain Fantastic, Silicon Valley—7/7/2016

Although Matt Ross is best known these days as hilariously obtuse Hooli CEO Gavin Belson on Silicon Valley, his acting career has spanned more than two decades, including roles in American Psycho, The Aviator, Good Night, and Good Luck, Twelve Monkeys, Face/Off, The Last Days of Disco and, on television, Big Love and American Horror Story. As a writer-director, Ross helmed the 2012 feature 28 Hotel Rooms and, now, Captain Fantastic, which earned him Best Director honors in the Un Certain Regard category of the Cannes Film Festival. At San Francisco's Ritz-Carlton Hotel, we discussed Captain Fantastic, parenting, and being Gavin Belson for as long as Mike Judge will have him.
